Adapters needed?

When I put in PartPicker the configuration, it gave me the following warning.

I am using a ASRock B450M Pro MB and a Cougar MX330 Mid-Tower Case.

  • BNote: A USB 2.0 to USB 3.2 Gen 1 header adapter is required.
  • CNote: A USB 3.2 Gen 1 to USB 3.2 Gen 2 header adapter is required.
What is it, and is it a big deal?

Probably just front IO, the board contains a 3.0 and a 2.0 header which the case appears to also contain.

I am trying to upgrade the CPU and GPU in my current built.

My current built is as follow:

AMD Ryzen 7 3800X Processor

ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (x2)

HP EX920 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive

Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6 GB Video Card

COUGAR MX330 Mid-Tower Case

EVGA - 600W ATX 12V/EPS 12V 80 Plus Power Supply - Black

Extra cooling fans (x3)

LG Internal SATA 24x DVD CD +/-R & RW DL Disc Burner Re-Writer Drive OEM Bulk

TP-Link TL-WN881ND PCIe x1 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter

Samsung 840 EVO 2.5" 1TB SATA SSD Hard Drive MZ-7TE1T0

I am not having any problem with the USB 3.1 or 2.0 ports. I don't recall getting that warning when I first put it together in PartPicker.

I have the same configuration except . . .

AMD Ryzen 9 5900x to replace the 7 3800x

The MSI RTX 3060 Ventus to replace the GTX 1060

The Noctua NH-D12L 60.09 CFM CPU Cooler to replace the AMD OEM cooler

I don't understand why it would pop those warnings.

Cool then since the error is related to USB ports, you can ignore it.

Also have you considered a lesser CPU and putting those dollars into GPU? 5800X have been on sale pretty frequently lately, there's a $140 difference at microcenter between the two. Also depending on your performance target the 3800X still performs to a reasonable degree. Is it really worth the $200+ you could put into other areas? That's up to you, but I feel like you could easily gain a better perf/dollar by taking another approach.

Turned out, I entered the wrong case. After putting the Cougar MX330 in, there is no more issue.
Thanks.

I am going be using Premiere Pro for video editing. I currently have the 7 3800x which is 8 core. A 5800x still has only 8 core and the gain is marginal. I would want to have the 16 core 9 5950x but it is too much for my budget. The 12 core 9 5900x is a compromised choice.

I choose the RTX 3060 for more VRAM (12gb) and moderate affordability. Premiere Pro is still more CPU intensive than GPU.
