Hi everyone, I am upgrading my work laptop from 4 GB to 8 GB or Ram...

My ram type is DDR2 PC2-6400
Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 8GB
Currently Installed Memory: 4GB
Total Memory Slots: 2
Available Memory Slots: 0

I just upgraded a Dell Latitude E6510 for 48 dollars for DDR 3 Memory at a higher clock speed... and for 8 gigabytes...

My ram is 160 dollars for two 4gb dimms... I looked all over newegg but couldnt find a Cheaper RAM... anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks!

Matt

ps. I have a dell Latitude E6500

It's because you are using ddr2 instead of ddr3. ddr2 will be more expensive then ddr3 now.

There aren't any "workarounds" to get by the cost of a product. DDR2 is dated, so the price will rise the longer you wait. You can check for used memory, a lot of people are selling their old parts and upgrading - check out eBay.
