Adding a 2nd internal hard drive to my desktop

What kind of power cable, if any, would I need? I already have an extra SATA cable, so I'm figuring that I would need a power connector too.

You would need a second sata power connection from the power supply. If you don't have a second one then you would need one of these.

How would I connect that cable? I understand that one of the black thingies goes to the HD, but what about the others?

The white 4 pin connects to one of the molex connetors from the power supply.

Yeah, its not necessary to plug the other one in. I only linked that one in case you needed to add another drive. They also make a single one.

Will my PC recognize the 2nd HD right away or would I need to change some settings?

If its a brand new drive with no data on it, then you will have to go into disk management and partition/format before windows will actually see the drive.

Right click on "computer" and click on manage. Click on disk management on the left hand side. Then find the drive and partition/format it.

Is there any way that I can clone the contents of one hard drive and copy it onto another? Like Windows, programs, everything pretty much an exact copy.
