adding a floppy to my notebook

Hi all this is my first post and I am new to the concept of web forums. I purchased a new notebook a while back and like most it does not have a floppy drive in it. My old notebook did have one and I removed it (along with the cabling). Does anyone know how I can adapt my old floppy drive so that it can be used in my new notebook through one of the usb ports? I would imagine that there would have to be some changes made to the cabling system.
