Adding a new hard drive...

Alright, I just got an old 60gb IDE I am hoping to add to my computer.

I have an available IDE spot, and currently have an 80gb sata, and a 250gb sata not running in any RAID.

I was wondering, if I just hook up the new 60gb, if I can boot into windows, right click format, and have another 60gb additional space. Is it as easy as that?

Yep, that's pretty much it. Some motherboards will default boot off an IDE drive before a SATA drive, so you may need to change the boot priority in the BIOS. You'll also have to set the jumper on the back of the drive, of course.

Yeah thats pretty much it. Set the jumper to Slave and you should be fine.

Crazy Idea - Have you ever considered RAIDING the 60GB and 80GB?
