adding fans and controlling speeds?

hey all, my case has 3 fans so far with two slots on the front for 2 more fans

if i add two fans in the front will it improve my overall temperatures?

also i have put my fans on high speed via the external fan controller yet cpuid hwmonitor still says they are running at 60% (i assums this means what they are running at)

if adding more fans would help what would you suggest

Definatley add some more fans :) What case are you using? And where abouts are the extra slots? I can recommend some good fans if you would like. Adding the right, and more fans will definatley improve airflow and decrease temperature. Maybe try another monitoring programme. Speedfan is really good for that sort of thing.
 
its an antec p182, it has 3 fans alreadh, upper rear, middle rear, and a cpu fan

the ones i can add are 2 in the front, 1 lower front, one mid front
 
Super easy to install, just put them in place (right way round for inflow if they are on the front) and screw them in with the screws provided. If you plug the fans into one of the 3-pin fan sockets on the motherboard you can control the speed with various software. I believe speedfan (free download) allows you to do it.

Dont know if I read over this to fast but where are you having heating issues, case , cpu , psu? for the case also make sure that you have airflow, airspace around and UNDER the case. You might want to look at getting a better CPU cooling device for the CPU. The cooling system is not complicated but you should pay attention to detail instead of throwing more fans at it. You want to airflow to come into the case and cool and exit. If you have to many fans going in the wrong direction they can work against each other and airflow is hurt. Make sure you have fans pulling air in and pushing air out. Heat rises so keep all fans around the top as exhaust and lower fans as intakes.Also , keep all the components inside the case clean, dust can add up quick in there and can cause over heating.
What are all your current temps? Whats your cpu target temp?

Even sorting out your cable management is a great thing to get airflow going. Try and move as many cables behind the motherboard tray as you can (If your case supports that) and get rid of any unnecessary cables as well. Keep them bundled together by using cable ties as well. All helps :) Definatley post some temperature readings though, would really help. Good luck :D
 
as far as the cpu cooler goes i couldnt tell you, all i know is that the heatsink is huge, biggest iv seen :/

the cable management isnt too bad but the thin fat cables are a bit in the way

i bought it prebuilt

as for temps i did a thread yesterday about em in desktop comps, my temps are what spurred me to ask this question.
 
cool just a quick question, for some strange reason my temps have dropped abit

core#0 is ideling at around 36

core#1 is ideling around 30

any idea what could have caused the drop
