Adding Fans To case

If you want to put the new fans in the case you will have to take out the stock fans. There is a fan in the front of the case and the back of the case. Those are the only places you can put the fans without modding the case.

NADA! Some cases have fans mounted at the top opening for exhaust. Some cases have fans mounted on side panels. And if the fans are larger then the stock you may have mount them on adapters. That setup will light up your life!

i modded the heck out of my case. i've got 10 case fans. running a venice 3000+ at 2.5gghz 32 deg under load.

Those 120mm fans will help move some air around and look good at the same time. If you have plans for OCing you would want to look into some extras to not onlu cool the case but to chill the cpu down.

yeah i saw those lasers and thought aobut getting some

so do you think that i should just drill some holes on the window for some fans

That window isn't made for mounting any fans on it. You would have to cut a hole large enough to place a fan into along holes for the four mounts so that the fan would either draw in or expell air. That would destroy the appearance for sure.

Check
www.thermaltakeusa.com, maybe search around for the case data sheet and it will tell you where other fans can mount easily. Also check around site for discontinued or clearance items might find something strike your fancy. My Xaser II with 5 case fans was discontinued for $38.99.

There are also a number of sites for case modding you can look over even for a different clear side panel where a fan can be mounted without being an eye sore. http://www.atxcases.com/atx-cases.asp http://www.priced.com/s/custom_pc_cases/1718/6/p1/ http://www.pcextreme.com/catalog/computer_cases.html http://www.circotech.com/ http://www.pccasegear.com/category25_1.htm And then of course is discussions on doing your own custom building. http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1821103,00.asp

thanks

do you know if there are other windows i could buy from them that have maybe 2 120mm fan slots on the window

The most likely answer to that one is a custom designed case. Every windowed cases generally have a single fan if any on the side panel. There are some sites where you can have custom cases prepared for you at request. You would probably have to run an extended search with a few different search engines to locate one prepared if not seen on regular vendor's site in their product listings. Often you will find several links go to direct to a single site for different pages. The results seen here are from the three different engiines; Yahoo, Ask.com, and Google. There's some more to look over through MyWebSearch. http://www.mywebsearch.com/jsp/GGmain.jsp?searchfor=custom+pc+cases&st=sb&speedbarconfigchanged

thanks

would it be hard to just drill a hole and add a fan to the plexiglass or not so bad

because im buying 2 extra 120mm LED fans and need a place to put them

I have an idea on where to put some fans

how about if i get some spacers or something to screw the fans into that puts them couple cm about the base of the case and just have some down there to cool the mobo

Does that model case have one or two removable side panels? It looked as if it could have two. But to start cutting and drilling holes without the tooling and experience with working materials like plexiglass would be a disaster in the works. Generally panels with fans mounted are either prepared by the manufacturer or custimized by a pro with the tooling for it. But then there are those that do it at home and see good results since they have the knowhow. If you have never modified a case or worked with maching materials plus are spending a good amount of money on a case why ruin it? You will only one chance to see good results from the effort.

Having posted at the same time that wouldn't work so well. You want to draw in cooler air while other fans would be blowing out the heated expelled from system components. Now read the other post.

i did and i thought about the hard time of working with plexiglass. i got my idea form seeing some other modded custom cases over at overclockingclub(somethign like that) where a guy had 8 or so fans in his case and he had some on the bottom of the cases when it was standing up

His case sounds like it was modded more for looks rather then functionality with throwing fans at the bottom with no opening for intake or exhaust. You might see a small gain there only. With the large variety of cooling products out you can find things like memory, hard drive, video card, and other types of coolers for OCing. Some cases are nothing less then open boxes without even the need for more then the cpu and power supply fans. Take a look at a few at this link where you add "anything". http://www.svc.com/svcompucycle/techstation-case.html

nah i dont like those too weird and i need a mid-tower

anyone know of a place i could put those fans on the case i posted
