Adding memory

Ive just uped my memory on laptop to 1280gb but in system properties its only showing 1.24gb.
In bios it shows 1280gb though so any advice

Do you mean 1,280MB? I take it you have a 1GB and a 256MB stick correct?

If so, then system properties is very close to the actual amount of RAM you have, which is 1.25GB.

I doubt the laptop has 1280gb bc thats like what a tb?

Yes 1.280mb and im missing 40mb which i think the onboard graffics will be using

If you have a 1GB and 256MB stick, then you arent missing anything.

1,024 + 256 = 1280MB.

Like you said some of it is probably dedicated to on board graphics

i thought alocated memory for onboard graphics ran by counts.. so

I thought you said it was showing as 1,280MB in BIOS, but 1.24GB in system properties? If so, it's almost exactly the same amount.

1.24 x 1,024 = 1,270MB.
