adding new dvd multi burner

when i wire it up everything looks fine but it doesnt work. could i be missing a wire could someone send me a picture of the wires that i need incase im missing a wire
 
a little more info would be good , anyway if the drive is a second drive first you have to make sure the jumper on the back is set to slave ,then install into the pc after that there are two cables a ribbon cable it looks flat and about 2" wide that goes in the back of the drive , and there is a power molex
that looks like a plastic plug with four coulerd wires comming out of it that goes into the back of the drive and that is it, make sure the power molex is in the right way round it should only fit one way.
 
If its a IDE drive, hook it up to the IDE cable and connect the 4 pin power connector. If theres 2 drives on the cable one has to be master and one slave, theres jumpers on the back to set it. If you have a DVD or CD drive on the same cable as the DVD burner set the Burner as Master and the Rom as Slave
 
1. How many other drives (CD/DVD) do you have in your computer?
2. Confirm that the IDE and Molex (4-pin) connectors are plugged in.
 
when i press to open the drive it opens so duz this mean its connected correctly. how do i set it to slave ive already got a multi burner drive but need 2 have 2
 
on the back of the drive you will see some metal pins and you will notice that two of the pins have a little plastic cover on them that is the jumper, if you look ontop of the drive there should be a little picture of the variouse positions the jumper can be put and what it does look for the one that says slave and move the jumper to that position.
