Adding old parts from my damaged system to my new?

Hi, my computer broke down. I think it was due to over heating.

But what if my RAM, HDD, SSD and Blue Ray drive are damaged? Will they damage my new system, (CPU and motherboard) if I put them in?

If your system overheats, it usually shuts down to prevent damage. What were your system specs?
