adding power to case fan

so i have this case fan that was already installed into my case, when im adding the power connector from power supply to fan i realize i have two options and only one is right mayb?

in my power supply guide book it says to use the 2-pin connector but the fan power connector has 4 pins...i can do either or....so which is right? thanks
 
You can do both if you really wanted, doesn't matter so much as long as the fan is powered. Check the fans documentation, the 2 pin connector may be for the led (to display hard drive activity). Fans usualy connect via a molex connector directly to the psu, or a smaller 3-pin (i think it is) to the motherboard at one of the fan ports.
