Adding things to Motherboard

I was asking myself something, my motherboard doesn't have any PCI-Express (x16) slot for a Graphic Card, and I wondered if there was a way to add a PCI-Express (x16) slot to my motherboard. And if so, how do they work exactly, and I will I still be able to connect my graphic card who needs a PCI-Express?

Im not to sure if that is possible m8y, if you want pci-e you will need to buy a new mobo

Add-in cards are cards that give you extra USB, FireWire, SATA, ect. ports.

But there is no way to add a PCI-E x16 slot to your motherboard.

Thank you very much for the info guys. That's too bad, I was gonna get a X850XT and I'm stuck with my lousy FX 5200. Will have to wait to get a new PC ^^
Thanks again

Hey you dont have to buy a new one just add the stuff that you have installed in this computer for example HARD DRIVE , CD ROM, that way you dont have to buy all that again. and buy a good mobo which they are around 160, get a PC Case you can get them less than 100$ even for 50$ and if you want a better CPU you can get it for less than 200$. Just make sure the mobo and cpu sockets match.

You cannot add a PCIE interface to a machine without one because the BUS needs to supplant the standard one (you know, AGP/PCI) which is currently interconnecting everything in the system. And that's just way too many wires (meaning to successfully do this we'd have 16 layer PCBs which would mean the modification would cost $800 a pop in quantites of 1M) ;)
