Adjusting fan speeds

Hiya,

I have a question reguarding cooling,

I know that you can control your fans speed using programs like Speedfan and such but are these realy needed?

My fans dont make a lot of noice and when i looked on speedfan they were running at 50% speed and my processor was at 40c.

Are those fan speeds left ok alone or should they idealy be running a little faster?

All my computer is running at factory settings (Hp)
Thanks

Your computer should adjust your fan speeds if something starts getting hot, I use speed fan for the purpose of setting all my fans to 100% when doing cpu heavy programs and games to keep stuff from getting hot in the first place.

Hi,

Yeah it does adjust the fans speed because i hear them sometimes when playing games,

Although i was wondering like would it be ok to run speedfan and have my fans set to say 80% for a long period of time or would this eventualy kill my fans?

Also does Speedfan turn off automatic fan adjustments made by your system while your running speedfan?

Thanks

You could run them at 100% and they will still last a long long time nothing to worry about. I dont run mine that high unless needed because of the noise.

If your pc is getting hot your pc will over ride speed fan and increase as needed.

Isn't that what the automatic speed click box is for?
