Adobe Acrobat

Just a quick question, I'm currently using my mum's laptop which is not very fast and the biggest problem I have is with Pdf files. They will quite often make my computer freeze or will just take ages to load up. I'm just wondering whether you reckon downgrading to an older version of acrobat or upgrading to the very newest would be advisable... I mean would an older version be easier for the system to run and therefore perform better?

In reality I can't see anything really making a difference. But just wanted some input.

Have you tried any of the third party PDF readers?

http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader_2/down_reader.htm the zip shuld be the stand alone exe. Foxit is much more lightwieght than Adobe Acrobat, but it can have have some of the same security issues as Acrobat.
