AdobeAIR install issue

Hi,

I am trying to install a third party program (backtrackgps) that requires Adobe AIR on my HP laptop (2 years old). I download and install Adobe Air without any issues. I then download the tracking software (backtrackgps - by Bushnell) and save it to my desktop. I double click on the icon and I get this error message:

"Something went wrong trying to install this application. Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR from http//www.adobe.com/go/getair and then try again."

I am running Windows 7 with the latest updates.
Microsoft Securities Essentials
Malwarebytes Pro.
Firefox (browser)

I have the exact same software (the 4 listed above) on my computer at work. I can install the third party software without any issues.

I have contacted Bushnell and the company that wrote the software, but neither have come up with a solution.

Any suggestions???

Thank you,

Tom

If you are using Malwarebytes pro, there is no reason to run Microsoft Security Essentials. You most likely have a software conflict.

I've been searching the web for days now, can't find a solution...... Not sure what to do next. I did uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials.... Still get error message :

"Something went wrong trying to install this application. Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR from http//www.adobe.com/go/getair and then try again."

I have contacted the software developer, they even remotely logged into my computer to try to find a solution, no go. I have not had any issues with any other software that I have on my computer.

I have also run Malwarebytes software weekly and have cleaned out my computer registry...

Thank you,

Tom
