Hello everyone..

I am usually on the other side, try to answer question about networking.. as I enjoy it and usually know what Im talking about. But not tonight!

Ok this is whats going on. I need the following connection setup.

Wireless connection--->Computer1---(Ethernet)--->Router--->(3 more computers)

Ok So I have the connection from Computer1 to the router plugged into the router wan port (where modem is usually plugged in). I tried doing ICS and Bridging the connection, the farthest I got was with the bridge, but im not sure if I am supposed to use it.

Do I bridge the Wireless connection to the Ethernet connection? I currently cannot get the router to transmit the internet to the downstream computer. BUT the router does have the internet light on.

Does anyone have any help for me?

OK lets think this through. First what model router?
Is this a broadband modem and router in the same package, if yes, it will not work. If this is a seperate router, well you plug a broadband modem into the wan port on the router AND you can plug a broadband modem directly into a PC. So I would assume you could plug a pc into the wan port. I would try a different ip range on the pc plugged into the wan port, then the one on LAN. Did you try to ping from the WAN to the LAN?

This is a WRT54g by linksys, and no it is a router only.

I dont think there is a need for a modem, as I am getting my internet signal from another wireless source. Im stumped where the computer1 connects OUT to the other router...

Set the router and the downline computers to the gateway of the wireless internet connection, and use ICS on computer 1.
