advantages of PC vs. console gaming

guys, is there a way 2 play ps2 games on the computer? or is this illegal?

Here starts the debate... you would have to play roms which are illegal. Some will and are going to say that they are legal. They will say as long as you own the original copy that it is legal. It however is not legal.

i personally don't like playing roms on emulators. my friend used to have the gameboy advance emulator on his PC and the controls were a little hard to get to grips with, but he could transfer the rom from his PC onto a GBA cartridge and play the game on his GBA console. im not sure if you can do that with the new nintendo DS though.

Welcome salman to Computer Forums, hope you enjoy your stay :). The following is not pointed solely at you but to everyone considering posting in this thread.

I would just like to give people a reminder that it is preferred to refrain from actually discussing of roms here.

My previous post was not meant to start off a discussion but rather to point out that the only way to play console games on a PC is to use an emulator and roms which is a discussion which we will not get into.

Also the topic is "Advantages of PC vs. console gaming". So if we can please keep it on topic that would be great.

And let me further clarify Blue's posts by saying that the actual emulator is not illegal because it can be used to create games on that type of platform. However transferring an existing game into a rom is illegal. So, to review, emulator=legal, ROM=illegal. :)
