Hi,
I bought this laptop (advent ert2250) about 2 years ago, and when i first bought it, it had a problem - it kept turning off randomly, in an instant. One minute it was working fine and then BANG, just like that (without the noise!) it just turns off! I contacted Curry's and they replaced it with another one and it still does it! We had to then go away for around a month, so when we got back and I took up the problem with them and they claimed the warranty had expired, and i even wrote them a letter to no avail.
This problem is really annoying me as i can lose a lot of important work and even though i realise this was a long, long time ago when i bought it, does anyone know the details of the problem or how i could go about fixing it? It is now causing the computer to run slower, and i think Vista is slightly corrupt too (not surprising considering the amount of times it has not been shut down correctly because of the fault!) Also I had a browse on other forums, and LOADs of people have had the same problem! Apparently, it is a fault with the whole design (every model!) but a lot of other people have had trouble getting Curry's to admit to the problem.
Any form of help would be greatly appreciated!
