My wife has a advent laptop she says the charger is new but when i plug int he charger if i wiggle it eventually it will charge but then the charging light goes out.But when i plug in a power adapter to the laptop it powers it up straight away with no wiggling required.Any ideas guys please

The charger that is having problems, is that the one that came with the laptop? The other adapter that works, is the prong the same as the other one, same voltage and output amps?

yes its the original one battery has been replaced .No the other power pack is not the same its a 12 v 2 amp it powers it up but the screen is very faint
