Advice damaged laptop

I have an older laptop Dell Lattitude Intel Inside 3.8 GB, 128 MB, 233 MhH that got dropped by accident and the Space Key came off.

A computer guy told me that getting the thing repaired would cost more than a hundred bucks, which I don't have to spare right now as first I have to pay off my credit card statement after last month's party binge.

The other night, after a few ice beers, I decided to try fixing it myself but made it worse after glueing the space key back with Krazy Glue for it became stuck down to the keyboard. I unstuck it with an envelope opener but now when you try to put the space bar into place and push down on it, nothing happens (i.e. the space doesn't go).
Everything else works on the computer but the space bar.

The question I have is should I just trash the laptop?
I was going to donate it but don't know if it's worth the pain.
My question: Do I trash it or donate it or any other idea?

Hmmmm. I seeeeeee E-bay with $$$$$$ in ur future. Its better to sale on e-bay. Than donate to some organzation with broken part. I think its better to donate something in good condition so they can give it to someone in need.

Good idea. At least I can get some $$ for it.
Of course on ebay I won't mention the problem with the space bar and put in the ad that it is in perfect shape. At least I can pocket the $$ and the dupe who buys it will have to deal with fixing the space bar and scraping off the dried Krazy Glue. Since I am such a nice person, I'll donate a small percentage of what I receive. :D

well if you had the money it would not be worth it anyway. donate it to something or a computer fair of a fete even if it is broken someone out there will come across it and buy it

I love the monk!

Anyways, well do you have pictures of it?

Maybe to crazy glue glued part of the pad that supposed to get pushed in into the hardware itself. Rendering it useless...

Not only is that against ebay policy, in the end, after the buyer files the appropriate claims with ebay, your account can be temporarily or indefinately suspended. Even if you're not suspended, the buyer will leave negative feedback, leaving future sales harder for you.
