Advice for a noob

Ok I'm totally clueless when it comes to computers. I'm looking to play SWTOR, but I get ridiculously low fps even on the lowest settings. My question is: should I just upgrade certain components? If so, which? Or should i just go ahead and but an entirely new computer?

Sony Vaio
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU t9400 @ 2.53GHz
4 GB RAM
64-bit
Nvidia Geforce 9600

You would need to buy a new computer tbh, your components are quite outdated and the 9600 isnt great for modern games. You also have a laptop which are a lot harder to upgrade than desktops so your best bet is to make a new build. If you have a budget in mind some of the guys on here can help either picking parts for you to build it yourself, or finding you the best deal on a pre built desktop.
