advice for acer laptop travelmate 230

Hi

I have an Acer TravelMate 230 which does not play dvd's. I want to buy an external burner for music and dvds. Do any burners actualy play dvds aswell and if so what type of burners are compatible with Acer TravelMate 230.

Yes, 99% of them do

Any type of USB should be compatible

It should....unless your computer is messed up

If it says CD/DVD+-RW, 99% of the time it will

1 Yes they do play DVDs
2 Anything that has the same connectors as is available on the laptop is compatible (i.e., friewire/usb)

I have seen a few DVD burners that are just burners, I don't remember what brand, but I did see one or two one time

Well at least according to the various DVD specifications, they are all DVD and CD burners now (that is, any DVD burner since 1998)
