advice for new gpu and spu

hey wanting advice for a video card, i hear evga is good, any other brands? currently looking at the 8800gs, 8800gt. good choice both cards are approx arround 150.00 on new egg. i intend to possibly do sli later.
how about a sound card, looking at creative x-fi blaster for gamers. let me know
 
evga, pny, xfx are all very good companies! XFX and Evga have a lifetime warranty even if you Overclock!!
 
Yes EVGA is a good brand, but I must say I rarely hear complaints about any GPU maker. Just make sure you check the little things that differentiate companies, for instance EVGA has the Step up program meaning u can buy a 8800GT now and in less than 3 months u could exchange it for another better card and only pay the difference.

As for going SLI, it is often seen as a false deal, meaning that you will most likely get performance increase, but they won't be twice as what u'd get without SLI thus reducing your cost/performance ratio and in most cases it is probably more worth it to just buy the next best card and to have better performance than 2 older cards. Of course that logic doesn't apply to people who have bottomless pockets.

Exactly what he said! Esp about the sli!! Keep that in mind!!

Any brand is fine. They all have warranties, ect. If you overclock, most of the time that voids your warranty. Look up the MSI 8800GTS G92 on Newegg.
$30 and lots more performance...
