advice getting harddrive

ive been trying to build computer for the last 6 months and am going to finish it next week if all goes well


i have got a
ANTEC 900 CASE
GA-EP35-DS3P MOTHERBOARD
2GB BALLISTIX (X2 1GB STICKS)

Getting
Q9550


LOOKING AT GETTING A
HDD WD SCORPIO BLACK 250GB 7200/16MB/SATA2?????





video card down the track
CORSAIR TX-750W POWER SUPPLY
fan not to sure
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT

arent the scorpio series hard drives 2.5" notebook hard drives? get a seagate they run faster and they never die. at least ive never had one die, nor have i had one that was sent to me defective. western digital is good too though, stay away from samsung drives. ive had multiple samsungs that were defective.

yes seagate is very reliable
i disagree about samsung thou i would recommend the Samsung HD250HJ

I had one recently die and i had 2 more before that die with a year each...

I went to wd, and i love em soo far, plus the raptors are fast, thinking about getting 2 velociraptors and raiding them

Yeah, Scorpio's are laptop drives. I say get a 640GB drive because they are supposed to be really fast. I think I read that they are essentially 2 320GB hard drives and both can be accessed at once. So it's almost like RAID.

power supply $150 to $200 750w will be safe i think

and a fan for a Q9550 around $100 to $120

aahhh.. you must be in Australia!

Same go to www.msy.com.au and see if there is a shop near you and you can save a lot, they have good prices and are very good, i have bought all of my parts from there.

If you can go there, i'll recommend parts from there.

in my build i have a WD Scorpio and it´s very faster than other winchester´s.
WD Scorpio it´s a good choice
