This is the P.C i'm thinking about buying for around 800£ :

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6400

2 x 2.13GHz, 1GHz FSB, 2MB Cache

Microsoft Windows XP Media Center

2GB DDR RAM

400GB Hard Disk Drive

Dual Layer DVD ReWriter Drive

512MB ATI Radeon X1600SE Graphics

Built-in TV Tuner + Remote Control

802.11g Wireless Network Ready

19" Widescreen TFT Monitor

Is that a good P.C for hardcore games? such as BF 2 Q4 Aoe 3 And some of the other new games? I know i need a good graphics card is the x1600 good or should i buy this 1 seperately :

GeForce 7900GT Chipset

256MB GDDR3 Memory

PCI-E Interface

Dual DVI Outputs

Serious Sam 2 Bundled

Zalman Heatsink / Fan attached

For about 200£ ? or is the x1600 good enough for todays games, also info on the computer itself would be helpful e.g is it strong/new/powerful enough to handle new games etc?

Thanks for reading help appreciated :D

7900gt

the X1600 is not very good. The 7900GT is very good. What screen resolution will you be playing at? If 1680x1050 the 7900GT should handle most games without a hitch at high settings. The 7900GT can handle mosts game at max settings 1280x1024 and down. 1600x1200 and max settings I would start with the 8800GTS. It really depends on if you want the max settings and what you like. But the 7900GT is waaay better than the X1600

Ah thanks for that info i will be buying the 7900GT then, hehe well lucky for me i don't like BIG monitors if anything 1200x1048 will be the highest i EVER go i've taken a liking to 800x600 style monitors but i usually switch between the 1200x1048 and 800x600 depending on what game I play X1600SE is pretty useless then thanks for the info. :D
