Advice on new build?

I am going to build a system at about the time when conroe will come out and will like to ask you guys to take a look if everything is fine with the parts that i want.

Future system:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Thermaltake Tsunami VA3000BWA
ZALMAN CNPS9500
975 motherboard(that will come out with conroe)
Western Digital Raptor 74GB
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
SILVERSTONE ZEUS SST-ST65ZF
XFX PV-T71F-YDE9 GeForce 7900 GTX EXTREME (675MHz) 512MB
and some cd/dvd burner

Everything for about $1700 to $1800

Any suggestions?

I would get either:

1. Another raptor to put in RAID

2. Another 160GB or even a 250GB to store larger files

3. 2 7200rpm SATAII in RAID 0

i am short on money and i also have an extra 20gb in my old pc so that give me about with the raptor 100 gb and i dont think i need more

And is raid 0 really noticable?

Should i put 2 74gb raptors together or get one 150gb?

If you dont think your going to need extra space, then dont get another hard drive.

Two raptors in RAID 0 is quite a nice combination.

yea i know but is the system that i will build is it like one of best high end systems?

What do you think the 3dmark06 could be on my future rig?

Well the dual raptors in RAID 0 would make it faster, but I'm sure performance will still be pretty damn good. Everything else looks good to me, I have a Thermaltake Power Supply myself, and like it, some high end users may disagree, but it serves me well.

Well with a Kentsfield 2.4Ghz and a 7950GX2, that rig scored a little over 10K in 3DMark06. However still got around 1-1.5fps in the cpu tests (dam those tests are hard to run!).

My advice would be to consider upgrading to a 7950GX2, since there only about $50-$75 more and are currently the best performing single slot card on the market.

i was thinking of getting it but many people told me to not get it if you dont have a 19 inch screen and i have 17 and crt but for now its fine as long as it has 1600 by 1200 resolution and i might upgrade to a newer card about 3 or 4 months after DX10 comes out

You think its a good idea?

It is true that you see more of an advantage with the 7950 if you use larger resolutions, but for the price I would deffinetly consider getting it. And by the end of this Month, it may be significantly cheaper.
