Hi there im new to this forum so hello everyone.....

Anyway i was just wondering if i could have some advice on what to upgrade on my computer.

Technical Information:
Processor:AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 2000MHz
Memory (RAM):512MB
Mainbroad: K7S8X
Video Card:NVIDIA GeForce4 MX420
Operating System: Windows XP SE
Hard Drive: 40GB

I use my computer for games mostly and most of the games that are out now my computer cant cope with them like it used to.

Please can i have some advice thanks

RAM & GFX card seem to be your best start.

1GB RAM and a decent GFX like a 6800 would probably keep you in the game

well... let me ask some starter questions:
what is your budget?
what is you lag tolerance?
what are you going to upgrade, or are you getting a new system?

Could go up to a Athlon XP 3000 or 3200, get another 512 of ram, and a Nividia 6200 or up or a ATI 9600 or up

Lol im going to sound really dumb now but whats PO'd?

HA Ha Ha Ha Ha- I think he means how much tolerance you have for slowness- in other words a fast computer to one person might seem slow to someone else

PO'd = Pi**ed off.

The 6800 is a bit slow for the price you pay, a better buy would have to be the 6600GT or x800 which are actually a little cheaper and perform better. The X800PRO would be even better and it can overclock really well. The 6800GT is a little better than the x800pro but more expensive and I think the x800pro can overclock higher than the 6800gt.

didnt you here about the 6800GS?? the GS is almost as good as a 7800GT and less money, GS is $199 on newegg(sale). Also if you check newegg 6600GT's they range form $100-$200. so the 6800GS is a better buy.
