Hi my name is Mark Rance, I wondered if someone might be able to offer me a little advice please on the best desktop to buy? I have around £1000 to spend and use the normal programs like Word/Powerpoint etc, aswell as downloading films and music from the web. Is there any disadvantage to buying a laptop with similar spec and using a docking station/external monitor over and above just getting a desktop??
Many thanks,

Mark Rance

For your use, laptop could perform the task. However, I recommend desktop over laptop if you don't need it to be portable. It is simply down to upgradeablity and desktop with same price would be faster than cpu. Also, you won't need £1000 machine for those tasks.

You can consider these machine. I recommend you contact them to see if you could ask them to change to bigger harddisk, or blu-ray reader if you need.
