Advice please.....?

I was wondering if anyone could help.... my apologies for asking for advice on my first post... I promise to contribute more at a later date...!

I want a 'today' pc that won't be out of date soon, and I need some help choosing what to buy. Some people suggested I go to

http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/cfg02.asp?v=d#configurator_top

and I did, but I found it hard to keep my price to within my budget (nothing definite, but I'd like to spend around £1000).

I looked at this one: http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=66098.

I know mesh had something of a dodgy reputation a long time ago, but I've heard they're fixing that, and if I go for these specs on the cyberpowersystem site, it comes to something like £1200...

I'm looking for:

A pc that will last me 5 years.
That I can use for teaching, including preparing lessons with and interactive whiteboard and using powerpoint.
That I can watch mlb.tv on (baseball from America)
That I can build up a library of music on. I currently have thousands of CDs I'd like to move onto a pc.
That takes up as little space as possible.
That I can play games on occasionally.
That will plug into my stereo and thus hit the music part above.

Should I go for the mesh one?

All contributions gratefully received! (I mean advice, not money!)
