Praetor, I didn't want to confuse him with 2 different clock speeds so I put down the "effective" clock of both of them.

computerhakk, if you have a "socket A" T-bird, you can spend $100 and get a nice Barton 2800+ to replace it. This will be a excellent performance boost and will most likely surpass the Celeron easily.
yes true but you'll likely have to OC the mobo if the mobo is limited to a 133FSB/266BUS

True, I didn't see any info on the limitations of the mobo, but if it is as old as that CPU you are probably right.

how old and unresourceful can this amd processsor be.. lol.. would it compare to a pentium II? or III?.. i used intel processor throughout.. so i have on clue.. cuz if it can outperfrom a II.. i'd program it for my nephew who now currently has a

pentium II
windows 98 i believe
128 mb of ram
a pretty cheap grpahics..

it stinks.. but it runs..

I dont think i did either just noting that if we're dealing with a Athlon1000/Tbird1000 etc then the highest core/bus speed would be 133/266 while the Barton2800+ runs at 166/333
