AMD or Intel processor. Which is better for gaming (Half Life 2)?

How come it seems AMDs have slow operating speeds. Is that accurate or is there something I'm missing. I need something better than 1.8 ghz to run Half-Life 2.

no you don't a 1.8GHz Athlon64 is plently fast don't compare AMD clock speeds to Intel it doesn't work.

2GHz FSB....uh....no. The FSB on the 1066bus boards is 266. Now if you can find a board/processor from intel sporting a 2GHz FSB (that would come out to 8GHz BUS ) I would really like to see/steal it

Never mind, I got confused. The 3.4CEE has 800MHz fsb, 2MB L3 cache. The fx-55 has the 2ghz fsb
