Is it necessary to install spyware into the computer?

What does it do and where can I download a good one from if I need to?

Most of the time "Anti-spyware" is recomended but keeping on the safe sites will keep you from getting that on your system.

Still just have a program like that handy and update it when your about to use it.

Spybot Search and Destroy is free. Adaware has a free version. I use both.

spysweeper sweeps more than spybot, try both and see which one you prefer.

I would really recommend downloading FireFox it doesn't use Active-X.

But keep your IE because some website you need Active-X to run so if you can't view it in FireFox use IE.

Also SpyBlaster it will protect you from known spyware automatically by the definitions you download with it.

adaware detects vx2 but it just wont make them go away they just come back after restart, i've tried safe mode too.

thats true, the only version which removes it automatically is Microsoft Anti-Spyware. This version is the best, when I say the best I mean it is proven to be the best out of the main three. Why else did Microsoft buy it?
