The other day the power went out, but the computer was off and connected to a surge protector.

This has happened before and the last time I think I cleared the cmos or something and it started. This time I reset the cmos, then removed the battery, unplugged the power supply to the mother board and also tried unplugging the power on switch wire lead to the mother board.

Of course I did all these things one at a time after unplugging the power supply then checking to see if the computer would start, but nothing.

The mother board is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L with Intel E2180 and the power supply is an Antec EA-430.

Is it possible the power supply got zapped? or maybe there is something else I can do to start this thing, Please help.... Thanks, Dave

Push the power button in a few times with it unplugged. Have you tried it plugged straight into the wall without the surge protector?

There is a small chance it could just be your surge protector being shot. Try to plug it directly into an outlet, a different one than the one you are using now. if it works, it is either the surge protector or a fuse or something. If not, sadly it's the computer.

Supressors are typically a one and done affair. After a possible surge you should replace. Tho this looks like the psu died.
