After the build!

The question is after getting your build together and getting it to post, how can you make sure your running optimal settings in BIOS with your components. I guess what I'm trying to say is, when you are in BIOS for the first time trying to get everything set up properly, how do you know what voltage and timings to use with your RAM? Basically, how do you know what settings to use for your hardware in BIOS?

you have to research what the best settings are. if you can even access your BIOS that means at very least your CPU, RAM, and vid card are working. if you can install windows that means your HDD and optical drive are working. and if the computer turns on your PSU is working. getting everything to work at optimal settings is tricky (if by optimal you mean how far you can push everything before it blows up, i.e., overclocking). but if all you are worried about is voltages, if you can access the BIOS and your OS doesnt lock up or give BSODs then your voltages are fine
