Do a lot of people purchase and use a different heat sink fan than what comes with the CPU? Are these stock heat sink fans usually of poor quality? Thanks for the help.

Alot of people buy the aftermarket simply because they will be overclocking and needing better cooling than what the stock heatsink will provide. If you are not overclocking then just use the stock one with some AS5 thermal paste and you'll be good to go.

the ones that come with it are fine. but if your overclocking its usually betting to get an aftermarket one.

the stock HSF are usually good to sustain the cpu at the normal clocks but probably will let it get to hot when overlclocked.

but then again, i have no idea what im talking about.

Thanks. Sounds fine. I do not think I will be overclocking or buying an aftermarket HSF, I was just interested to know.

Depending on the quality of the fan that came with your cpu, an aftermarket fan can
significantly lower the temp of your cpu. Which can in turn make the entire case a little
cooler, depending on the airflow of you case, which is always good. Your parts will last
longer if they run cooler.

Thanks for the help. I don't think aftermarket HSFs are very expensive so I may consider one.
