AGP friendly Power supply

Just curious can i use any power supply for my AGP system. Which one would you recommend im thinking ranging from 450watt to 550 im looking for .
 
well, give us the specs of the system it's for, and we'll give you a power supply :)
AGP cards, and systems that support them, aren't very energy demanding buy today's standards, and i'm sure 450w will suffice. but, more information would be greatly appreciated.
 
My comp is P4 3.0Ghz, 1g pc2700, my current graphics card is a ATI 9200. Stock power supply is 293. I usually play WOW alot so i need something decent. I bought the BFG 550 watt from best buy but when i plugged everything in the computer never powered on i check everything multiple times. I ended up returning it.

That doesnt really mean much, you still could've missed a connection, or it was just a bad power supply. 550 would be overkill for your rig though, anything past 300w is unnecessary.

you never really mentioned a problem with your current power supply, what issues are you having?
 
I would not suggest getting a 300W P/S even if its fine for his computer, no upgradability later on. If he upgrades later he will have a useless new 300W P/S.

I have no problems with my current power supply but my graphic card is on its way out so i know i need to upgrade to a new power supply. I have a BFG 7300GT on the side it recommends 450W power supply but i havent decided if i want to keep it or get a better graphic card.

I checked all the wires, the only thing that was missing was a 3 pin female that connected to the motherboard but it didnt come with the Power supply that i bought.
 
what motherboard do you have?
i don't know of any 3 pin female connectors that go to the motherboard. these are on most power supplies though:
there's the +12v cpu (4 pin square, two black, two yellow, often have two of them, as some boards use 8 pins)
the 20+4 motherboard one, and the 6 and/or 8 pin pci-e connector
various 4 pin molex, 5 pin sata, and 4 pin fdd/zip drive connectors (small rectangles)
 
Like Johanssen said, most 3 pins on the board are fan header leads, which are powered. You dont want to plug in a power lead into it from the P/S.
