Hey guys,

Im new to the forum, so hello one and all!

I'm after an AGP Graphics Card for Mac. It's getting on in years - hence why it has Power PC chips. Ive been given a copy of Final Cut Pro and it needs this particular graphics card. I would hate to buy a graphics and it'll be the wrong one. I'm a bit oblivious to all of this - so if someone could point me in the right direction of a decent AGP graphics card, I would be most grateful!

Thanks guys,

Josh

There are usually video cards that are made specifically for Macintosh. This isn't the case anymore, but I recall when I got my Radeon 8500, there were versions for PC and for Mac. I don't know the actual hardware differences, but I know the Mac versions were more expensive. I suspect the only real difference was the included software/drivers, but I do not know for sure...

Maybe someone else can come in and state for sure if there is a true hardware difference between the card, but your best bet may be to try Ebay for such cards...

There is no hardware difference but mac versions use a different BIOS to windows. You could flash a windows card with a mac bios, and vice versa
