i am using a asus p4s8x-mx motherboard....it has one agp 8x slot....is there any technology out there that i can change to pci-e slot so i can use a pci-e vga card....

certainly just change the motherboard with the pci-e slot is the most simplest way....but i just bought it about one year....sign...:(

I can't see there being anything because the buses are totally different. Even if there was, it'd probably be just as cheap to get a high-end AGP card. Besides, it's not like you'd get any performace increase

probably you are right....it may be rational to get a high-end agp card...

but thanks...at least i know there is no such thing to change agp to pci-e device:)

I can't imagine it being worth going that route. PCI express Mobo's aren't that expensive. Whatever you spend on an adapter, if it does exist, could be better spent towards a PCI express Mobo. Furthermore why would you spend money to go backwards to get a better AGP card? Makes no sense IMO Why not just get with the program and get yourself a PCI express MoBo and a PCI express card. Even if you just bought the AGP MoBo maybe you can sell it on Ebay or something to get back some of your investment.

well...i am lazy to get a new pci-e mobo and re-build the computer..^^"

also...i may have to get a new cpu, ram and psw too...it is true that i know asus has a mobo that support socket 478 cpu and ddr ram with pci-e slot.....but it is a really basic model though.....so i think just get a agp card may be a wise choice
