So I just bought a 10k rpm Rapter for my main harddrive and Run the other one as a slave. I installed XP on it and all that, and when I took the windows cd out it wouldnt boot. I get a "Disk boot failer, please insert system disk" errer. If I dont set the Bios to boot from cd it wont go at all. Nooo clue whats up with this. It was set to boto from that harddrive and everything.. Ideas?
Thhaankssss

Sounds like its checking you drive before your HDD or something have you alterd your bios to check the master HDD first

Yeah its set to run my master drive first, checked that a few times, I have built several computers and have never had this problem...

Nope not a raid, just a single sata drive... My only thought is something went wrogn with the installation, I guess there could be a small problem with the drive?

I had this problem but I was using a hard drive from a emachine. I bought a new hard drive and I didnt have a problem.

My next guess is that something went wrong when I was installing since everything else checks out. I just dont feel like Formating.. Since I just got everything Back on it. Maybe a "windows repair" will do it

Definitely try a repair.

Those messages usually occurs with improper formats and installation. The error is pretty common and you might have to format if it persists, or try something like a chkdsk.
