Forever my slightly overclocked athlon 64 3200 venice @2100mh was getting temperatures around 45C idle, 51C under moderate load, and once up to 72C after a long bf2 war...65C is the highest temperature the cpu is rated as. that was with a $30 case and 2400rpm 120mm fan. Sometimes i would even take the side of the case off just to get more airflow .I just got a new case used for 30 bucks and added 1 80mm case fan. now my temps are 30-32 idle. i also think my overall noise level is lower. Just a interesting story as to why you shoudnt take case aiflow lightly.
