Sticky this if possible, There is another big AIM virus coming about!

If you are messaged by someone with the following message:

"damn this looks just like me lol [link here]"

DO NOT CLICK THE LINK AND EXIT THE WINDOW ASAP!

The link will open automatically and spread a worm throughout your system. It already happened to me.

This is a warning for everyone.

Personally i hardly use aim, but if i got that and didnt know the person i wouldnt click it! Why would you want to see someone you dont know? ;)

Actually, I have never used AIM before, don't even know what it is used for. as atomic said, I won't be so curious to want to see someone I don't know on the internet. so, does it mean my computer could be always away from AIM virus?

Yes...AIM is aol instant messenger..u dont have to have aol as ur isp to use it...its just another chat service. If you dont use aim and this is true (which i havnt checked, was just commenting) it will most probably exploit a flaw in aim.

1. A good firewall with process control should prevent that
2. Not chatting with random friggen people also helps (but that's uncommon sense) ;)

Doesn't have to be random friggin people Praetor, I recieved the Virus from a conversation with my girlfriend (love hurts huh?). The link auto-spams itself without the sending user knowing and auto-opens the link as it appears on screen.

I got the same virus in AIM and MSN, and I have two different firewalls. I didnt' click on the one in AIM, but I made the mistake of clicking the MSN one, and it multiplied itself every 10 seconds.
