Air Duct or Fan?

Currently on my case, I have and 'air duct' that goes from vent holes on the side of my case to the CPU/CPU cooler. Although I could try this myself, I could save myself some time and money if I just ask what would be better the side of my case? An air duct, a fan, or both?

I hear having two fans too close causes them to basically cancle themselfs out. So, I woudln't suggest adding another fan very close to your CPU. Though, I've never really tested and confirmed this. Maybe you could give it a shot if you have an old fan laying around...?

Well I was thinking: Side panel, fan, then the duct if I was doing both..... I actually kind of tried it with both but I didn't leave it on long enough to really come to a conclusion..... I haven't tried it with just the fan yet......

What kinda airduct is it? Is it one of those huge tuby ones or just a short straight one that comes built into your case? If its the latter one then I would just use the cpu fan.

I love airducts. They provide room temp air right to your CPU heatsink, and they are totally silent!

Back when I had my Zalman 7700al-cu, I used my air duct, made out of a soda bottle. It dropped temperatures significantly.

I think you should just use the duct and your CPU fan, depending on what your CPU fan is.

In the equation:
X mm fan (A CFM)/duct/ Y mm CPU fan (B CFM)

If X>Y, use it, if X <= Y, forget it.
Also, if A>B, use it, if A<B, forget it.

For a second i thought you got a $79 duct :)

but then the pictures came.

I would just use the CPU fan, that seems a bit too close to have 2 fans.
