Alienware Aurora X51 R3 Gaming PC

Does anyone have an Alienware Aurora X51 R3 PC? I was going to buy that Alienware brand. The specs are quite good with an i7 Core Processor, 16GB DDR3 RAM, 250GB SSD HDD and an extra 1TB HDD.

Now, what's the best or even latest graphics card to buy? I would like something running in dual such as AMD Cross-Fire or Nvidia SLI? How about going for the Nvidia GTX 1080?

What are the best computer games to buy that I can use something with high performance? I'm looking for Adventure games such as Tomb Raider, Mafia 2, Skyrim, Far Cry 4, Doom, Quake, The Witcher 2 & 3 etc.

Look at a different brand other then Alienware as they are overpriced because of the name. Can always build cheaper yourself. And its always best to go for a better single card then going sli or crossfire. The 1080 is one of the higher cards out right now, shouldn't need 2 of them for anything.

So you are wanting to buy games that will use your hardware? I'm pretty sure you want to buy hardware that will run the games you want to play efficiently. Not the other way around.

I want it mostly for PC games but I will be using it for Flight Simulator and add scenery on the long run. Therefore, it was to be a very powerful computer as lots of resources are going to be running on it. Apart from Alienware, are there any other gaming brands that you would consider perhaps?

If you can, I would just build a pc yourself. Cheaper and most parts will come with either a 3 year or lifetime warranty. None of those games you mentioned require a lot of video power. What you need to do is figure out what is the most demanding game you play and check its system requirements and use the recommended specs.

Can you recommend some high-tech games that use a lot of resources when used with full specs please? It would help me better with the research :)

This is why I don't understand why you are wanting this. You don't buy end games just so you can use your high end hardware. If you don't regularly play those type of games why even build such a high end machine? I don't understand your strategy. As I said, you figure out what games you specifically want to play and then you build according to that.

All I play is FPS games which don't require beast video cards. I don't know off the top of my head what games require beast cards.

This strategy doesn't make sense. Why build a machine based off games you are using only as a benchmark.?

Dual 1080 is completely overkill and ridiculous. A single one, as a few of us can attest too, is monsterous performance with off the wall OC capability.

Basically, figure out your total budget, pick the parts, and build it yourself. That Alienware, or any for that matter, are overpriced, plastic, junk. If you truly are looking for a machine to carry you forward - Alienware is not a good choice! Custom is the way to go, and its super simple - you can throw together a 10 part build in about an hour.

I want to play games like Crysis 3. I am also going to use the computer for programming and web development projects.

LOL. You DEFINITELY dont need SLI'ed 1080's for those...or an Alienware machine!

You could build a $1000 rig and be done with it!

Whats your budget?

EDIT: I just noticed you mentioned the Alienware is DDR3? Unless that was a typo, you certianly want DDR4 ..even more reason to not buy the Alienware!!
