Hey All,
Was hoping someone here might be able to provide me some wisdom!
3 years ago I purchased an Mx17 from Alienware and very recently one of the fans inside the laptop won't stop running on high power 24/7 (it's loud so you can hear it). It got me a little concerned because the unit didn't seem to be overheating, but the fan wouldn't stop running on high power regardless.
I made an irrational decision to bring it to a local computer shop after Geek Squad said they wouldn't fix an Alienware, but now, I'm getting the run around from the local shop after having left it with them for 10 days now. I hope I'm not just being paranoid, but I am beginning to feel that they're out of their depth with my computer, since most of their customers are sending in low-end units.
I am considering waiting for the unit to be return to me from the shop and then immediately shipping it off to Dell/Alienware to double-check they didn't F up my machine and pay them even though I'm out on my warranty.
What would you do?
