all about pixel shader

wtf is a pixel shader?? i know i dont have one but is it something i can download or is it hardware? i have searched everywhere but cannot find an answer.

There are emulators but they use the CPU and they dont work in alot of games and they suck... so yeah, I would just get a nwer video card if you need them.
