All cookies (and other things) lost

A strange thing happened where Firefox is asking me for my password on every internet site, forum etc. any place that requires a password and into which I'm normally logged into automatically. I thought it was just Firefox, but now, I have this little app called "Monitor Off" and it asked me to say "I Agree" to the licence agreement as if I just installed it and all my settings reverted back to default, so obviously something happened on the level of Windows rather than just Firefox.

Does anyone know what could have caused such a thing? I didn't run CCleaner or anything like that that could have done this.
 
But, guys, its not just Firefox, as I say, its also this app for turning off the monitor.

Its not a problem, I can just reenter all my passwords and create new cookies, its not a big hassle, I'm just curious how such a thing could have happened. And, again, its not just in firefox, my preferences in this app also disappeared (to be clear, this is not a firefox add on or something, its an independent app).
