any idea

I hope you were joking... lol.

Anyway, I had this issue with an old computer of mine.. Pentium 3, geforce 2 etc. Happened ever since I upgraded it from a pentium 2 to a pentium 3. Was a used motherboard/processor that I got off ebay so I had no clue what had been done with it. However, it only froze for half a second and continued for a minute and did it again and again and again. So pretty much, it was obviously a hardware problem.

Don't know about your case though, did you check for any programs that may be disturbing your gameplay? viruses? spyware? adware?

Your video card may be overheating. Zalman do some pretty good VGA fans which should keep the temperature down. I had this problem with CoD2 but for £20 the fan solved the freezing.

$20??? I get fans for $3 here

It was a meaty vga fan with a massive copper heatsink and it came with heatsinks for the gpu ram too so i think £20 was a fair price. Its in my sig if you want to look it up.

no i just built my computer so no viruses or adaware becaue i keep it unplugged from the network and i have checked, i did get on the internet for windows updates and video driver and bios update so it would read my hard drive, yes it is most likely a hardware issue, i was just hoping for a solid example, so far it could be overheating of some kind, the powersupply is faulty, but its not the memory i ran memtest and it didn't come up with anything. well thanks for the help though any ideas post back i'll just keep lookin around, last resort is to bring it in to a shop
thanks again

You need a better computer, video cards, rams etc. Like mine. Look at my specs.

The guy is a new member asking for help. And you provide this?

Are you using updated chipset drivers?

well no i haven't updated the chipset, and i had a reason not to but, i can't remeber what it was, so i guess i will try that, lol new member, actually that was kinda funny, and i was really frustrated, so a good laugh every now and then isn't always bad anyways thanks for the help.

yeah the chipset driver didn't work i'm going to take it in monday and start swapping hardware parts until we figure out which is messed up
thanks for the help

What GPU-temp do you read? Overheating will cause throtteling of the GPU during which the game can halt to a complete stop, then continue normal until the peak GPU-temp is once again reached and so on.
