All of a sudden my computer is XP Pro!

I had home edition on my computer ever since I got it. Last night it was still home edition, but all of a sudden this morning it has the XP Pro login and says XP Pro in the System info. I didn't do anything to the computer since last night and this morning. My settings and programs are all the same. I did reboot last night but when it booted up it was home edition.
This is VERY weird. Please help me understand whats going on.
 
heh, I'm the only one using it. I was using logon studio and had a custom logon (and of course its gone) but i dont think that changes the fact that my computer mysteriously upgraded. Are there any ways to distiguish if its really Pro besides the system info and the logon? I have my doubts its actually pro now since i didn't even restart when the change took place.
 
there are a few differences that can be noticed when you get into using pro, but kinda hard to notice sometimes. check in the "view system information" in my computer and see what that tells you.

I got my logon screen back, but this whole thing is still puzzeling me and all my friends.

Magic, huh? Good, XP pro is better. Maybe computer changes software itself??? *wink*:confused:
 
i had that after installing a copy of xp pro and trying to use a lets say dodgy product key it didnt work so i bought xp home reformatted and instaled that but it still said it was pro my point is maybe something from the pcs hdd past
is still on it and that has given the incorrect info
