all slot upgrade?

i remember someone saying it will slowdown when all slots are filled? is this just for certain mobos or all? i'm planning on putting in another 2x512 for battlefield 2. :)
 
not too sure myself, but i know that when you use compatible ram at different speeds, the lowest speed will be what they all run at?

You should not have problems like that with just two slots. The problem that I know of is when you fill all four slots on an AMD Athlon 64 (Venice and San Diego does not have this problem). The speed has to go down by quite a lot often struggling to even get 333Mhz.

what core is your amd64 3500+
also can you check your sig as it says you have ddr2700 which is faster than any made, even than even ddr3, i think you may have meant pc2700??

Its for when you have 4 slots fill on a pre-Venice/pre-SanDiego machine ... you can prolly force the higher clock but that'd be considered overclocking
