DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!
I can not stress enough about this. Got the card installed all the software and its a mess. Hangs up and freezes like crazy. Drivers are terrible. No wonder the card isnt supported by ati. 10 fps in 3dmark vantage couldnt even make it into bioshock. Pay the extra bucks for the gtx285 I know I am now. Returning to newegg imidiately and geting the 285. Can not believe I wasted my time with saphires crappy tech support and such a terrible card.

I tried both 8.12 and 8.11 both as buggy as the last I apprciate you following me and trying to help me out pies

Both power plugs are plugged in. I do have vista im trying the hotfix now Ill let you know how it works out once again thanks

Yah thanks but it did nothing at all im getting like 7 frames per second and hang ups like its my job. I apprciated you looking for the norm but it seems nothing is normal for me. Going to me rmaing back to newegg for gtx 285. Think Ill get more than 7 frames a second hahaha

I think you are just over reacting. Did you uninstall the old drivers before installing the new 8.12s? Plus there is many people out there that get way better than that so I think maybe a bad card or your CPU is bottlenecking it.

yes I uninstalled and reinstalled countless times with lates drivers ect. I dont think my cpu its bottlenecking it considering its a corei7 920. Maybe its a bad card idk but others have had the same issues if you look at the reviews. Maybe im just an unlucky guy. As far as the 4870x2 Im done with Ati and crossfire at the moment haha I appreciate the suggestion but Id rather go with the evga gtx285 Which I know will have great tech support if anything goes wrong. Unless you have some compeling evidence that the 4870x2 is much better than the 285 Im pretty sure Im ordering it tonight.

Thanks I appreciate that but for the most part ive always been nvidia and after what just happend with my 4850x2 i think im going back to nvidia. If I was to fork out the cash for a 4870x2 I would defiantly not go with powercooler but I really apprciate all your help and effort man. I dont really game at too high of resolutions but ill let you know first hand how the gtx 285 is haha

If you look at that review even in the games that are better written for Nvidia cards the 4870x2 still comes ahead. And at high resolutions the 4870x2 demolishes it in some of games. (almost twice the fps)

I have this card as well, but i ran the 3dmark vantage and i didnt get 7 frames. But there is something wrong. On the first graphics test the water or whatever messes up, but the second test is damn near perfect.

Do i have to enable CrossfireX? because it is 2 gpu's in one right?

Also on the CPU physics test i only scored like 22 in that for the ops. whats wrong with my cpu? and the planes and stuff going through the hoops are really slow.

The CPU test are always like that. Mine is choppy as well.

that IS a CPU-sized waterblock on it. with TWO 70mm 46CFM thermalright fans screwed to the radiator. at full speed
water in the res doesn't even get hot at 340, but i guess it's either my mem speed or voltage thats holding me back.

stock speeds are 285/550Mhz (Core/Mem) i guess those aren't the 4200 speeds? then why does 3DMark call the chipset that?

Oh so its not just me. Ok even though the cpu test gives me 22 ops which i think drags down my score trememdously, i see people with systems supposedly less costly than mine with higher ratings than me. Whats going on? The other cpu test that isnt the physics one runs just fine though.

Hopefully when i run 3dmark06 instead of vantage everything will be ok.
